The Bockorny group has a robust agriculture and food safety practice. Scott Shearer, a principal at the firm and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Agriculture during the Clinton Administration, leads the practice – providing insight into the inner workings of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). As food production trends evolve to focus more heavily on public health, the Bockorny Group assists clients on business matters involving animal health, diabetes initiatives, nutrition guidelines and food safety protocols.A native of Illinois, Scott is a formidable force in his field. He was as one of the founding members of the Ag Advisory Task Force during the 2008 presidential campaign. The committee, growing at 300 + members, continues to serve as a sounding board for senior Obama Administration officials seeking regulatory feedback. Scott continues this tradition, advising new members of Congress on issues such as the re-authorization of the Farm Bill as well as controversial international trade disputes involving agricultural interests.
