Please see the Press Release below:
WASHINGTON, DC: Tyler Thompson, a ten year veteran of the United States Senate and lead Republican health staffer for Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA) will join the Bockorny Group, Inc. this week to expand its growing health care practice. Thompson will bring his deep knowledge, experience and political savvy in the field of health care to bear on behalf of the firm’s expanding clientele.
Over the past decade, Thompson established contacts and forged relationships with Members and staff on both sides of the aisle, particularly on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, the Senate Finance Committee, and in the Senate’s Republican Leadership.
“Tyler will be a terrific addition to our health practice. He is one of those rare Hill staffers with the respect of his peers and strong relationships on both sides of the aisle,” said Dave Bockorny, CEO of the Bockorny Group. Thompson will join Melissa Schulman and Michaela Sims, both longtime Hill veterans and valued health care policy consultants, in working with the firm’s health care clients.
As a lead Republican health staffer, Thompson worked at a high level on the Affordable Care Act, the Prescription Drug User Fee Act, the Patent Reform Act, the Food Safety Modernization Act, and numerous other Medicare and Medicaid policy bills, earning respect from Democrats and Republicans alike. He is highly regarded for his ability to work thoughtfully in a bipartisan manner and his deep knowledge of the issues, as well as his keen insight on Senate procedure.
Thompson first came to Capitol Hill in 2002, serving as an advisor to Senators Zell Miller (D-GA) and Saxby Chambliss (R-GA). Thompson has served as Senator Isakson’s senior health policy advisor since 2005. A Georgia native, Thompson brings a wealth of knowledge to the firm regarding various markets in the Southeast, in particular the booming health care and biotechnology industries.
“The Bockorny Group is known as a firm that delivers results on behalf of their diverse client base, including many organizations and companies in the health arena. I am honored by the opportunity to join this team, working alongside trusted House and Senate veterans from both sides of the aisle,” said Thompson.
Thompson earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He currently resides in Washington, DC.
